Resurgence of the Templars Collector’s Edition is rated 3. Rated 5 out of 5 by tutortime from Excellent Game. Great game; storyline, graphics and minigames. This game did become a buyer for me, the SE version. I would have purchased the CE if the goodies were better. So many of the newer games now have this one new “go to” sound effect and thank God it was lacking in this one, considering how much you hear it!

Shawn Mullins Shawn Mullins Singer-songwriter Shawn Mullins readily admits that several of the songs on his new album, My Stupid Heart, address his perceived relationship failures. In fact, many were written as he was falling out of his third marriage; in the title tune, he actually chides himself for being such a romantic. That oh-so-fallible, yet essential part of our being is, it turns out, the guiding force behind just about every song on the album — the theme of which, he says, is summed up most succinctly by another song title: In the studio, the song took on a classic vibe, with impeccable instrumentation and production that sounds as if George Martin supervised.
And it carries a momentum that shifts it away from feeling like a woe-is-me wallow in self-pity. More about them later. To this day, he has a thing for Bobbie Gentry. It all made an impact. It clicked on when he heard a career-class talk by Amy Ray, then an Emory University freshman but already performing with Emily Saliers just before they became Indigo Girls. I wanted to be just like her.

Authenticity[ edit ] A disclaimer at the end of the credits reads, “The people and events depicted in this program are real. Certain events may have been re-enacted for dramatic purposes. This show, which purports to “expose” employees of restaurants ripping off their employers, contains so many implausible scenarios, inept actors and transparently fake denouements that it’s really quite refreshing.
In the opening sequence, Stiles narrates the changes were made on the pretext that restaurant staff have grown more aware of the show and the company, and became more savvy in their scams. The Consultation[ edit ] Charles greets the owners with his signature, “Charles Stiles, Mystery Diners” at the beginning of the episode. He and one of his fellow Mystery Diners meet with the owner s at their restaurant to discuss the problem with the restaurant before opening, or a neutral venue, and Charles learns about possible suspects.
Charles then tells the owner that his team will come in after hours to wire the restaurant with hidden cameras and microphones. The narrator gives details of where the hidden cameras and microphones have been set up usually with a floorplan graphic presenting a simplified layout of the establishment , and also mentions which Mystery Diners will be going undercover as a new staff member or a customer.
Microphones and cameras are set up only in areas of the restaurant where legally allowed and customers and employees have no expectation of privacy with restrooms and locker rooms universally excluded from stings , and sometimes are set up outside in patio and ‘ breakroom ‘ areas of the establishments, whether outside or inside.
The Sting[ edit ] Charles and the owner s operate from a control room setup, usually within an isolated part of the building without easy employee access, or within another nearby building rented temporarily during the sting length. A number of large-screen LCD televisions featuring the live camera footage and graphics involving the sting subjects are configured in a multi-screen matrix and a switching system is utilized, along with audio monitoring of the establishment through shotgun microphones.
Usually one undercover team member who may have already spent a number of days at the establishment in advance of the sting is introduced as a trainee waiter to the staff by the owner s. The owners then retire to the control room to watch events unfold.

Plot[ edit ] Helen Lyle, a Chicago graduate student who is researching urban legends, hears of a local legend known as the Candyman. The legend claims that Candyman can be summoned by saying his name five times while facing a mirror, whereupon he will murder the summoner with a hook jammed in the bloody stump of his right arm. She encounters two cleaning ladies who tell her about the murder of a woman named Ruthie Jean, a resident in the notorious Cabrini-Green housing project who they claim was a victim of Candyman.
Helen’s research turns up 25 other murders in the area similar to Ruthie Jean’s. Later that evening, Helen and her friend Bernadette Walsh, skeptical of Candyman’s existence, call Candyman’s name into the mirror in Helen’s bathroom; nothing happens. Helen learns from Professor Philip Purcell that Candyman was the son of a slave who became prosperous after developing a system for mass-producing shoes during the Civil War. He grew up in a polite society and became a well-known artist, sought after for his talent in producing portraits.
After falling in love with and fathering a child with a white woman in , Candyman was set upon by a lynch mob hired by his lover’s father; they cut off his painting hand and replaced it with a hook. He was smeared with honey stolen from an apiary , prompting the locals to chant “Candyman” as hungry bees stung him to death. His corpse was burned in a pyre and his ashes were scattered across the area where Cabrini-Green now stands.
Helen decides to write a thesis on how the residents of Cabrini-Green use the Candyman legend to cope with the hardships of living there. Helen and Bernadette enter the housing project to visit the scene of Ruthie Jean’s murder.

I thought “Hooked On Murder” by Betty Hechtman was the cutest little crochet mystery. It’s light reading, but thoroughly enjoyable. It had me chuckling throughout, as I recognized in myself (a long-time crocheter) a lot of the “crochet behavior” exhibited by the characters.
